Manchester United vs Benfica: Team News, Head-To-Head, Who Will Win?

Jose Mourinho is looking to continue with his impressive performances in the Champions League so far this season when his side host Benfica at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Manchester United have won all three of their Group games so far and have only conceded just a goal.

A win over Benfica tonight will grant them a sure spot in the knockout stages with two fixtures to spare.

Even though manager Mourinho insists Benfica are one of the toughest sides he has played against, the Portuguese club have lost all their games so far, making Man United favourites to get all three points from the meeting.

The Portugal club will be without star player Douglas due to an injury sustained in his ankle. Additionally, Andre Almeida won’t be playing in the game due to suspension.

However, talented star Jonas has been in great form this term so far, and is expected to give Man United lots of issues during the game.

Manchester United will be doing without the likes of Paul Pogba, Marcos Rojo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marouane Fellaini due to injuries.

Veteran midfielder Michael Carrick is back to first-team training after suffering from a mystery illness that kept him out for almost two months, but he wasn’t included in the squad to play against Benfica.

Manchester United won four of their last five games with the Portuguese club (all in the Champions League), and drew just one – the match which ended 2-2 at Old Trafford back then in 2011.
