Mourinho

Going through Mourinho’s biography and his achievements, I realized how good the manager has been since his first managerial career at Benicar some years ago.

The Portuguese singlehandedly brought Porto to limelight in European competitions having helped them to a Champions League glory and UEFA Europa League in 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons respectively.

His trophies and achievements are so much that he was listed as one of the best managers in the world.

Despite all of his achievements with all the clubs he’d managed, many still believe he didn’t deserve to be listed among the elites.

They reiterate that he needs to change some of his behaviours before he could be regarded as one of the best coaches in the history of the game.

Mourinho’s attitude with the press and feud with his players are being criticized by most pundits and fans, who believe the manager must change as soon as possible.

In all the team he’d managed, he had unhealthy relationships with some of his players and that often led to his dismissal. At Real Madrid, Chelsea (first term and second term) and Manchester United, the Portuguese manager often criticize his players.

Real Madrid

In his first two seasons at Santiago Bernabeu, things went quite well for them. However, in his third season, the Portuguese man had some feud with star players including Sergio Ramos, who publicly questioned the manager’s tactics and style of play.

He equally had an unhealthy relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo whom he claimed wasn’t willing to listen to his instruction.

According to Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo thought he knows everything that he didn’t need manager’s correction and advice.

Others who had their own share of Mourinho’s unprofessional and nonchalant attitude include Iker Casillas and Pepe.

Chelsea

He is regarded as Chelsea legend by some fans, while others regard him as a traitor due to the way he relates with his players and employers.

Just as every other club he has been to, Mourinho won some trophies with the Blues including Champions League. However, the manager had some issues with top members of the team.

Laurent Malouda and Michael Essien both experienced a hostile reception from the Portuguese manager in his first spell at Stamford Bridge.

His second spell in 2014 wasn’t different from the first. He won the Premier League glory in his return to the Blues but had to battle it out with his top player’s.

Cesc Fabregas, Eden Hazard and David Luiz were all treated badly by the controversial manager and that played a role in his dismal record in the 2015-16 season which led to his dismissal.

Inter Milan

He led the team to five trophies including 2009-10 Champions League glory.

However, his legacy was ruined by his usual unruly attitude towards his players.

At San Siro stadium, almost all the players were thrashed by the Portuguese manager. Javier Zanetti, Esteban Cambiasso, Marco Materazzi, Maicon, Wesley Sneijder were all treated badly.

Manchester United

Obviously, Mourinho has returned the Red Devils back to where they were during Fergie’s reign.

Having won two trophies in two seasons, the former Madrid manager is surely a perfect manager for the Old Trafford outfits.

However, his man-management abilities continue to weigh him down. So far in his United career, he has engaged Anthony Martial, Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw and Eric Bally in an intense feud.

Mourinho must change attitude towards his players as they have the power to mar or make him
