Senegalese international and Liverpool football club’s star striker Sadio Mane has revealed that he turned down approaches by Manchester United on two occasions.

Speaking on the Premier League today show, the former RB Salzburg and Southampton player revealed that Louis Van Gaal first tried to sign him for the Red Devils and then Jose Mourinho as well. He said:

‘Some teams wanted me- Manchester(United), the wrong team wanted me.

The 26-year-old forward has been in blistering form this season for Liverpool with three goals in as many matches and Jurgen Klopp has immense belief in the striker’s abilities to surpass the heights he reached last season for the Reds.

Sadio Mane will be hoping to add to his impressive tally of 26 goals in 59 match appearances for the Reds when they lock horns with Leicester City at the King Power stadium on Saturday.

The Premier League table-toppers will hope to keep their 100% record start to the league campaign intact against a Leicester City side who have won their last two games.
