According to reports, premier league heavyweights Man United are back for Atletico’s Antoine Griezmann and have made contact with the Madrid club over the player’s signature.
The Old Trafford club are said to be ready to offer Griezmann a much better deal than what Barcelona are offering him.
The France international was set to join Manchester United last summer but chose to remain at the Spanish capital after his side’s transfer ban was upheld.
The red devils decided to splash huge cash to bring Romelu Lukaku from Everton during the transfer window, cooling their interest in Antoine.
The Frenchman is also needed at Camp Nou, and the Catalan giants have received the upper hand to get his signature.
Barca are understood to be confident of securing the player’s signature and could pay the €100m release clause in his contract next summer.
However, recent reports made it known that Jose Mourinho’s side have reignited their interest in the player and have made contact with his club over a deal.
It was added that Atletico informed the Manchester club that a deal with Barca is already underway, but the Old Trafford outfit believes they can offer Antoine a better salary if he should move to England.
It was also said that other top European sides including Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also keeping tabs on the player.
