Brazilian star player Fred has been heavily linked with a move away from Shakhtar Donetsk in recent times after emerging as a target for both Manchester United and Manchester City.
However, it was made known recently that the samba star will join Pep Guardiola’s side and will ignore the chance to play at Old Trafford.
Both Manchester clubs have been keeping tabs on the 24-year-old over the last six months, and it appears his Ukrainian club are ready to cash in on him.
The samba star moved to Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013 and has evolved into one of the best players in the country. The £50M-rated player is one of the most important members at the club, and his superb performances this season have caught the attention of various top European clubs.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho already promised to sign at least one midfielder at the end of this season, but it appears he will have to take his attention away from Fred.
His former manager Mircea Lucescu has made it known that Fred will follow the steps of Fernandinho by moving to Manchester City to play at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester United have also been linked with the likes of Monaco’s Fabinho and Nice midfielder Seri.
