Manchester United To Rival Spanish Giant For Top Italian Powerhouse
Manchester United are preparing to rival Barcelona for Paris Saint Germain midfielder, Marco Verratti, according to reports.
The Italian star has grown to become one of the best midfielders in Europe due to his all round midfield abilities but his future at the Parc des Princes has been put into doubt.
Reports in the Express claim that Verratti wants to move away from PSG this summer, with Barcelona being his preferred destination but Manchester United are willing to battle the Catalan giants for the midfielder’s signature.
However, Paris Saint Germain has continually said the midfielder will not be allowed to leave the French capital this summer and even rejected £66million offer from Barca.
Reports in Italian outlet, Tuttomercato claim that Manchester United are now ready to swoop for Verratti with hopes of convincing PSG to sell the midfielder. Jose Mourinho is believed to be eyeing a massive revamp of his squad this summer.
The report also have it that Chelsea are also considering a move for Italian midfield maestro, with reports that Antonio Conte wants Verratti to move to the Stamford Bridge this summer but might have cooled down their interest due to the imminent arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco.
