According to Dean Saunders, should the deal for Benfica defender Victor Lindelof sailed through, Premier League side Manchester United would be hailed for getting one of the top players in the Champions League.
Dean Saunders has been recently talking about what he thinks the Swedish defender would bring to the United team at Old Trafford.
Lindelof is one of the players heavily linked with a move to Manchester United next transfer as the media keeps indicating that he’s heavily scouted by United officials. Additionally, it was recently reported in Portugal that Benfica club president have flown to Manchester to complete a deal.
With Ivorian international Eric Bailly representing his country in the African Cup of Nations early next month, it is obvious manager Jose Mourinho needs reinforcements for his defense department.
“He [Victor Lindelof] is a top player,” Saunders said. “He’s been one of the top players in the Champions League.
“He catches the eye, reads the game well, [he’s] quick, he’ll only add to their squad.
“They’ve got a brilliant squad.”
Lindelof’s countryman and Man United huge striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is also an admirer of the 22-year-old defender and he thinks he is doing great things and is good enough for big teams, including the red devils.
