Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has made his stance known concerning his allegiance to the country of his choice.

Guendouzi has caught the eye of the world since joining the North London club in the summer.

He was brought to the Emirates as a future plan for the club but was soon impressive that Arsenal manager, Unai Emery could not look away from him.

His performance at the preseason earned him a starting role in the Premier League, keeping new recruit, Lucas Torriera and Elneny on the bench.

Both Morocco and France have lined up to have the young lad commit his future to them and one is obviously the loser.

French manager and Morocco national team coach Hervé Renard has targeted Guendouzi for a long a very long time but it seems it has reached a dead end with the player deciding to play for France.

He told L’Equipe that his dream has always been to wear the France national team Jersey having put it on at the youth stage.

He therefore stated that his major focus is to help Arsenal achieve their aim.

The 19-year-old noted that he is still young and has a lot of time to play and prove himself as a good player.

He said once that has been established, his international allegiance would not be difficult to decide.

Meanwhile, Guendouzi was left out of the starting role at Arsenal for the first time on Saturday and was replaced by Torriera.

The young lad has helped Arsenal record three wins in the Premier League.
