Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian claimed his team-mate Marcus Rashford is presently the best young player in the Premier League – although the 19-year old has not started in the league since the 1-1 home draw with West Ham United.
Since the arrival of coach Jose Mourinho, Rashford keeps finding it difficult to earn game time as it seem the youngster doesn’t often fit into Mourinho’s plans while he keep struggling to deliver on the raw speed and agility that he possesses this season.
However, when full-back Darmian was asked who he thought was the best young individual in the English top-flight, he told the Premier League’s official channel: “I think Marcus Rashford is the best young player. He’s strong, he’s powerful, he has all the characteristics that you need to become a top player.”
Even though Rashford is criticised for not being often productive with his dribbling skill this season, he remains a talented player who has the capacity to change a game.
It is glaring that he hasn’t had lots of luck with United in the Premier League this season. Out of the eight league matches he has started for the team under Mourinho, the red devils have only won just one.
Manchester United play host to David Moyes’ Sunderland on Boxing Day and the red devils looks forward to continue with their winning streak.
