According to new reports, Paul Pogba is aiming to make his return to first-team action for Man United when his side clash with Chelsea next month.
Pogba has been sidelined since he picked a hamstring injury during a Europa League game against Basel in September, and his side had hoped to have him back for their League Cup game against Swansea City on Tuesday night – a game they won 2-0 without him.
The Old Trafford club will host Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur for their next premier league game on Saturday, before making a trip to London to clash with defending champions Chelsea the following week.
And L’Equipe made it known that the player is hoping to return to training to put himself in contention to play at Stamford Bridge on November 5, and it will be up to his manager if he wants to risk Pogba.
After the game against Antonio Conte’s side, there will be a ten-day international break and the France international is not likely to play in his country’s friendlies against Germany and Wales.
The break will, however, give the former Juventus player more time to get fully fit and to get up to speed, but he is reportedly interested in returning against the blues.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is also looking forward to seeing the duo of Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick get back to full fitness.
