France international defender Laurent Koscielny has made public his intentions to end his international football career after next summer’s FIFA World Cup in the cold country of Russia.

The 32-year-old Arsenal star made his France debut back in 2011 and has since made 49 appearances for the team nicknamed Les Bleus so far.

The Arsenal center-half was part of the team that represented France at the European Championship in 2012, 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 European Championship. The Didier Deschamp tutored side lost in the final match of the latter on home ground after an extra-time winning goal from Eder gave European Champions Portugal a 1-0 victory at Stade-Francais.

Laurent Koscielny spoke on Tuesday at the national team camp ahead of double friendly games against Wales and World Champions Germany.

According to French publication L’Equipe, Koscielny said, ‘There is an end to everything.’

‘After the [FIFA] World Cup, I [Laurent Koscielny] will be almost 33 years old, it will be time to leave the place [France National team].

The Arsenal man hopes to be picked for his second FIFA World Cup after he made the France National team squad that were eliminated at the 2014 edition in the Samba country of Brazil by World Champions Germany in the quarter-final stage.
