After losing 2-1 to Bournemouth on Sunday, Arsenal are now eight points behind fourth-placed Chelsea on the premier league table – and it appears they won’t be playing in the Champions League again next season.
To make things worse for manager Arsene Wenger, he is about to lose Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United any moment from now and he has even admitted recently that the player’s departure is ‘imminent’.
The French boss must sign a quality replacement before the closure of the window, and there are reports that suggest he is getting closer to getting Malcolm’s signature from Bordeaux.
According to the Guardian, the North Londoners are likely to pay his French club £45 million to sign him.
Malcolm has been superb at his club this season so far. In 19 Ligue 1 games, the Brazilian has scored 7 goals and has provided 5 assists to his teammates.
He is a versatile player who can effectively play on any of the flanks, and he has the skills to fill any void meant to be opened by Sanchez’s departure.
However, the samba star has also been linked with Manchester United – as manager Jose Mourinho is determined to reinforce his team by signing more than one superb players.
The Portuguese tactician is keen on catching up with Man City on the table before the end of the season.
