French Ligue 1 outfit Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan could be on his way to the Old Trafford in the summer transfer window with reports that talks have already been opened.

Man United are getting set to part ways with their Spanish keeper David De Gea who has a year left in his contract with the club. The former Atletico Madrid keeper has refused to extend his deal despite the plea and efforts to convince him.

However, Man United have been busy searching for a new goalkeeper and have settled for Mike Maignan who has been impressive in the French Ligue 1 this season.

It is claimed that talks have already been opened for the signature of the goalkeeper who is beginning to have a first-team call with the France senior national team.

However, Man United have made a number of attempts in the past by holding talks with Barcelona over a deal for Jasper Cillessen but the Spanish champions want his €60 million (£53m) release clause to be activated while Ajax rejected an offer for Andre Onana.

With hopes that United could win the signature for Lille goalkeeper, they could result to stick with him, knowing that the asking price is fair and affordable.
