Italian Serie A giant Inter Milan, want Mauro Icardi to pen a new deal to ward off interest from Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United in the striker.

Icardi, 24, only penned a new contract with Inter Milan last October but as per Premier Sport , the Serie A giant wants the Argentine to sign a new contract with a release clause of about £190million.

Both Arsenal and United have been strongly linked with his signature in the past, but Inter Milan are hoping that an improved deal and a mammoth release clause will deter any suitor from approaching the player and will keep him and his agent wife Wanda, happy.

Argentina international Icardi netted an impressive 24 goals in the Italian Serie A last campaign and has already scored five goals this season.

The Inter Milan captain is looking to lead the club back into the UEFA Champions League after they disappointingly finished seventh last term.

Mario Icardi wrote on his Instagram page: “The (UEFA) Champions League? Yes, I (Icardi) will play in it with these colours (team).

Icardi further stated that the team made him grow as a player because the team took him to where he has always dreamed of because the team has given him the honour and responsibility of being captain, something he carries with great pride Always.
