Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig have made it known that their star player Timo Werner has no release clause in his contract at the club. This has put the German club in control over the player’s future amid recent transfer speculation over the youngster.

Werner has emerged as a target for Liverpool following his impressive performances at Leipzig, and he continues with his fine form this new campaign.

He has been able to score four times in four matches so far for Leipzig, and scored three goals in two games for Germany during the last break.

It is understood that Champions League winners Real Madrid are also showing interest in the 21-year-old, but Liverpool seem to be ahead of the La Liga champions in the race for the player’s signature.

However, the Merseyside club will need to splash huge cash if they are to have any hope of bringing the talented player to England.

Jurgen Klopp’s side took advantage of a clause in the contract of Naby Keita to seal a deal to sign the African midfielder for £48million next summer.

But Leipzig director Oliver Mintzlaff has made it known that there is no clause that can be triggered in Werner’s contract at the club, and that they are not planning to let go of the young striker.

Mintzlaff added that Timo has a contract with them until 2020, with claims that the striker feels at home at Leipzig.
