Why Emery is to blame for Everton’s defeat

This is the first time Arsenal manager Unai Emery will be blasted for Arsenal defeats as former player Ian Wright makes his feelings known.

The Gunners suffered a major 1-0 defeat against Merseyside outfit Everton at the Goodison Park on Sunday which is a major setback to their bid for a top-four finish.

A win would have seen the North London outfit move to the third position and extend the points margin between other rival teams, they still retain their fourth position as they look to continue the race.

However, The Gunners legend Ian Wright blasted the Spanish manager for the defeat as he noted that Everton were able to stand at the end of the game because of the selection mistake by the manager.

According to him, Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Wales international Aaron Ramsey had no business on the bench but should have started the game.

Noting that there was an improvement in the Arsenal team when they both came in, Ian Wright stated that it would have been best to see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette start the game while Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil are allowed to remain at the middle.

He, therefore, lamented that the Gunners could have conceded more goals in the game but that did not happen as the first half goal is all that was needed to ensure a win for Everton.
