Premier League champions Manchester City will start as heavy favourites when they travel to take on Schalke 04 in the first leg of their last 16 ties in the Champions League.

Many football stakeholders expected more from Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola in the Champions League than what he has offered since he was appointed in 2016 and this season represents a fantastic opportunity to write the wrongs of the last two seasons.

Manchester City lost to French club AS Monaco in the last 16 in his first season before Liverpool knocked the Citizens out of the competition last season at the quarterfinal stage.

The English champions had reached the last four in the last season (2015/16) under Manuel Pellegrini.

Ahead of the Schalke 04 game, Manchester City have won their last four games scoring 18 and conceding just once.

Bet9ja is offering the odds of 1.28 for a Manchester City victory and the odds of 9.90 for a win for their hosts Schalke 04.

German Bundesliga club Schalke 04 has not had the best of seasons in the league as their campaign has suffered a great deal because of their involvement in the Champions League.

Manchester City are a high-scoring side and Bet9ja is offering a reasonable 1.52 for over 2.5 goals.

Five-time Premier League champions Liverpool can secure top spot in the Premier League with a win over Fulham in their league meeting on Sunday.

Liverpool earned rave reviews after their performance in the Champions League in midweek.

The Reds are through to the last eight of the competition following their 3-1 aggregate victory over German champions Bayern Munich in their last 16 tie.

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane was the star of the show against the Germans after he scored two goals either side of the halftime interval to give his side a 3-1 win in the second leg.

The first meeting between the two sides had ended in a goalless draw in February.

Liverpool fans would be hoping that their team can get the win needed to move above leaders Manchester City on the Premier League table.

As it stands, Liverpool trail Manchester City by one point after 30 league games.

Both teams have eight league games to go before the end of the season.

Liverpool’s eight-game run starts with the away game at Fulham

A likely win for the Reds is at the odds of 1.25 according to William Hill while a stalemate between the two teams is at the odds of 6.00.

Fulham have won just four games all season and an unlikely win over Liverpool is at the odds of 12.00.

Premier League champions Manchester City can move a step close to their quadruple dream when they take on English Championship club Swansea City in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.

Swansea will need a performance of a lifetime to upset the Citizens who are massive favourites to secure a last four in the competition.

Welsh side Swansea City have been impressive in this year’s FA Cup and their campaign will most likely end against rampant Manchester City.

Swansea City are languishing in mid-table on the English Championship table and their good run in the FA Cup run is some sort of consolation for their fans with the team unlikely to gain promotion back to the Premier League after just one season.

The Swans suffered relegation from the Premier League in the last campaign.

Manchester City warmed up for their FA Cup clash with Swansea City by beating Schalke 04 7-0 in their Champions League last 16 second leg clash for a 10-2 aggregate win.

They have been drawn with North London giants Tottenham Hotspur in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

Manchester City are at the odds of 1.13 for a win over Swansea City, while a win for the second-tier side is at the odds of 19.00.

A draw between the two teams is unlikely at the odds of 8.70 according to Bet9ja.

German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are slight favourites ahead of their Champions League meeting with Liverpool at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.

Bayern Munich and Liverpool are two of three teams that have won Europe’s top tier competition five times alongside Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona.

The Bavarian giants will host Liverpool in the second leg clash billed for the Allianz Arena after both sides played out a goalless draw in the first leg of their last 16 tie in February.

Bayern Munich have won all their games since that draw against the Reds and they have been handed winning odds of 2.05 according to Bet365.

The Bavarian giants warmed up for the Champions League meeting with Liverpool with a thumping win over VFL Wolfsburg in their German Bundesliga clash on Saturday.

Bayern thrashed Wolfsburg 6-0 at home with the help of a brace from star striker Robert Lewandowski.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich have scored 21 goals between them since that first leg.

Odds of 2.00 are available for at least three goals according to Bet365.

Liverpool came close to winning the Champions League last year before the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in the final and they would be hoping to go one better by winning the competition this season.

Odds of 3.30 for a Liverpool victory and odds of 3.60 for a stalemate between the two teams just like what was obtainable in the first leg.

Lyon vs Barcelona betting

Spanish La Liga leaders Barcelona would be hoping to right the wrongs of last season when they travel to France to take on in-form Lyon in the Champions League in what’s the first leg of their last 16 ties on Tuesday night.

Barcelona crashed out of last season’s competition in a disappointing manner to Italian Serie A giants AS Roma at the quarterfinal stage despite winning their first leg 4-1.

The Spaniards collapsed to a 3-0 defeat in the second leg played at the Stadio Olimpico to exit the competition on away goals.

Barcelona is unbeaten in this year’s competition alongside their opponents Lyon who won one and drew five of their six group stage games.

Bet365 is offering odds of 4.00 for the game to end in a stalemate.

Barcelona have won four and drawn two of the six games played before the Lyon game and they have been given the odds of 1.75 to emerge as winners by Bet365.

French Ligue 1 giants Lyon are also on a very good run after winning six of their last seven games in all competitions including a 2-1 comeback victory over Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in the league.

Lyon are at the odds of 4.20 to win the game against Barcelona according to Bet365.

chelsea vs stoke city

Premier League Champions Chelsea are expected to secure the maximum three points when they lock horns with a Stoke City side who are without a victory in any of their last four fixtures.

Stoke City do have a decent home record this campaign, but Chelsea will be buoyed by the return of Belgium international Eden Hazard, who is ready for his first Premier League start of the season.

The home team Stoke City are 19/4 to come out victorious in this League fixture, although bookies strongly favour the Blues, who are rated at 3/5 for the win.

The most attractive bet for this one is a half-time draw, and a Chelsea win at 10/3.

Th game at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday will see the West London club looking to close the gap on both Man United and Man City following last weekend’s goalless draw with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

Both teams fielded rotated line-ups in the midweek Carabao Cup, with Chelsea hosting Championship club Nottingham Forest, and Stoke City knocked out of the competition by Bristol.

Stoke City’s 2-0 loss was their second consecutive defeats, following last weekend’s loss at Newcastle.

Stoke’s Ryan Shawcross could return for the Saturday home clash. The club captain has missed the previous two League matches with a back injury.

Kurt Happy Zouma is ineligible to face his parent club. The loanee has so far played every minute of the Premier League season for the Potters.

Stephen Ireland and Afellay are both still on the sidelines.
Chelsea defender David Luiz will miss the game through suspension after being red carded late on against rivals Arsenal.

Attacker Eden Hazard should make his first start of the League season.

Spain international Pedro is doubtful for Saturday clash. He will be examined after picking up a knock on his ankle last weekend.

England international midfielder Danny Drinkwater is ruled out and is yet to play his first match for Chelsea. Antonio Conte hopes to have the former Leicester City midfielder back after the next international break.

Chelsea vs. Arsenal Preview: Bookies Predict 3 – 1 home win for Blues

arsenal vs chelsea

Premier League Champions Chelsea host Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend and the Blues will be willing to continue their impressive run of form with a win.

After the disappointing defeat against Burnley on the opening day of the Premier League season, Antonio Conte’s team have found their rhythm once again.

They will be heading into this London derby on the back of a 6-0 victory in the UEFA Champions League, and the Gunners needs to be very careful approaching the match.

Arsene Wenger’s men have lost two of their last three English Premier League matches, and their record against top four teams is quite embarrassing.

Arsenal will need to improve on their backline if they want to come out with a positive result from this derby.

The West Londoners have a fully fit squad to pick from for this weekend’s London derby clash.

Meanwhile, North London giant Arsenal will certainly be without their injured duo of Francis Coquelin and Spaniard Santi Cazorla.

The West London club have won 16 of their last 18 home games in the English Premier League. They have also performed well against the Gunners in their last few home matches. Bookies are giving this one to home side to win on Sunday afternoon.

The home team are favourites to win this one, and they are expected to secure a comfortable victory. Arsenal are quite weak defensively, and they will struggle to keep the likes of Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata quiet.

The Blues have enough quality players at the back to contain the fire power of Alexis Sanchez, and Alexander Lacazette and a home victory look quite likely here. A Chelsea 3-1 Arsenal scoreline to be precise.

Leicester City vs. Chelsea Fc: Leicester value on Shakespeare’s King Power form

leicester vs chelsea

The last two English Premier League champions trade tackle at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, and the Foxes will be counting on manager Shakespeare’s home form to see off Chelsea.

England international Danny Drinkwater’s £35million transfer deadline day switch to Chelsea will add spice to this battle at the King Power Stadium and can even spur Leicester City on to a sweet victory, considering the fact Burnley already did it at Stamford Bridge this season.

The Foxes have only managed to pick up three points from as many Premier league matches this season, but they showed a lot of promise in defeat when losing away to Premier League heavyweights Arsenal and Manchester United.

In between, Leicester defeated Brighton 2-0 to hand head coach Shakespeare a seventh victory in 10 matches at home in all competitions since replacing Claudio Ranieri.

Although the departure of midfield maestro Danny Drinkwater was a major blow, keeping Algerian Riyad Mahrez at the club was a major achievement in the summer transfer window, while signing defender Aleksandar Dragovic from Bayer Leverkusen on a season long loan is another big boost.

The summer signing from Manchester City Kelechi Iheanacho showed his quality with a goal for the Super Eagles of Nigeria against Cameroon on Friday night in Uyo and should be set to make an impact for the Foxes.

With England international Jamie Vardy also in good shape and renewed fighting spirits, there are goals in this Leicester City side and Bookies favour a 2-1 home victory.

The West London Blues recovered well from a disappointing opening-day home defeat to Burnley by beating Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley, followed by Everton at Stamford bridge.

Despite missing out on several summer targets, Chelsea still managed to tidy up deals for Drinkwater and defender Davide Zappacosta from Torino.

Summer signing Alvaro Morata’s early season form has been impressive, but bookies are still not convinced the Blues are anywhere near a solid side as last season.

Bookies favour a Leicester City home win and both sides to score.
