Ferguson tells Solskjaer how to stop Messi

English Premier League outfit Man United have been handed a boost with their legendary former manager Alex Ferguson playing an advisory role to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of their Champions League clash against Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona.

The Red Devils secured a historic qualification after defeating French Ligue 1 outfit by 3-1 at Paris despite the 2-0 defeat they suffered in the first leg of the round of 16 at the Old Trafford.

The Ole Gunnar Solskjaer team have therefore got Argentina international Lionel Messi as the major threat in the Barcelona team because of his fine form at the moment. The headache has been about stopping him from causing the havoc.

However, Alex Ferguson has told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that his central defenders have to be prepared to drop right on top of Messi and not be mindful of what happens behind them.

He noted that Messi will always drift away and that would be good because he is less of a threat on the side than he is at the central.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could have Phil Jones, Chris Smalling to mad the Argentina international.

Meanwhile, United will be at home and could have that edge over the Spanish team in the first leg tie.
