For weeks now, Arsenal have been linked with a move for Monaco star Thomas Lemar.
Lemar has been on Wenger’s radar for some time, as the boss confirmed in Arsenal’s first presser on their summer tour of Australia.
John Cross reports in the Mirror that the Arsenal boss is “confident” of signing the French international.
So far, the North London club have had two offers rejected by the French side for the Monaco winger.
The Gunner’s second offer for the winger was worth 40 million pounds. They are set to bid 45 million pounds, according to reports.
It is becoming clearer that the Monaco winger would like to move to the Emirate stadium.
Cross stated: “Lemar is keen to join the Premier League… Lemar’s agent have already held discussions with Monaco and the Gunners are hoping they can seal a deal.”
There have been speculations lately that the Frenchman was eager to move on, but the French club are reportedly asking for around 80 million euros for the winger.
The North London club broke their transfer record this summer transfer window by signing Alexandre Lacazette for 52 million pounds from Lyon.
Lemar was a member of Monaco’s successful Ligue 1 title win and run to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
