Confirmed: Chelsea Face Liverpool Threat For David Neres

One-time Champions League winners Chelsea will have to see off the new threat of Premier League rivals Liverpool in their bid to sign Ajax Amsterdam forward David Neres.

Brazilian player David Neres is easily one of the most sought-after young players on the European football stage after his stellar season with his Dutch Eredivisie club.

According to the publication from The Sun, Liverpool have joined three other clubs including Chelsea in the race to sign David Neres when the transfer window reopens this summer.

Three clubs namely Chelsea, Real Madrid and Arsenal had earlier registered their interest in the 22-year-old Brazilian attacker.

David Neres played a big part in knocking Real Madrid out of the Champions League at the round of 16 stage.

He scored one of the goals in a 4-1 defeat of Real Madrid in front of the fans of the Spanish giants who eventually lost out 6-3 on aggregate having won the first leg in Amsterdam 2-1.

David Neres has grown to become an important player in the Ajax Amsterdam team since joining from Brazilian Serie A giants Sao Paulo three years ago.

He has scored 12 goals and also provided eight assists for Ajax Amsterdam in all competitions this season including eight goals and eight assists in 29 league games.
