Why Arsenal are desperate to sign Nicolas Pepe
Arsenal are reportedly desperate to snap up Lille winger Nicolas Pepe ahead of the winter transfer window which reopens in January.
The North London are making the extra effort so as to beat off competition from Spanish La Liga giants and German Bundesliga top flight Bayern Munich.
Nicolas Pepe has been on the wish list of the Gunners over time and it might just be the opportunity for them but they will have to defeat other suitors in the race for the player.
However, Arsenal coach Unai Emery is believed to be doing a good job with the team having gone 17 games without suffering a loss.
But the former PSG manager is desperate for more to happen as he seems not satisfied with their various forms and will seek an additional attack force.
Meanwhile, Spanish giants Barcelona are in the bid to replace Ousmane Dembele who is also reported to be on his way from the Camp Nou.
Should the North London side secure the service of the star player in the New Year, he will serve as a double replacement for both Wales international Aaron Ramsey and English striker Danny Welbeck who is injured and feared to be out of play for a longer time.
