Chelsea set to beat rivals to the signature of Gonzalo Higuain.
With Serie A champions Juventus moving as fast as possible to complete the signing of Portuguese superstar attacker, Cristiano Ronaldo, it could open wide the door for Premier League giants Chelsea to bring a goal poacher to the side who has previously been heavily linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge.
Higuain linked again
The striker being mentioned is none other than Argentina international striker Gonzalo Higuain.
According to Italian publication, calciomercato, the Turin giants will be looking to balance their books and team by offloading the 30-year-old South American forward.
Media sources revealed that the prolific striker could be made available for about €55 million, a reasonable fee for a center-forward you might say.
Fans question move for striker
However, some Chelsea fans, will question whether the asking price is too high for a center-forward of that age.
Some fans are of the opinion that the West London club would be better off adding a few cash more to the one offered and going after a much younger striker.
Despite signing Olivier Giroud in the winter transfer window, the Blues are still finding it hard to score goals, as last summer signing Alvaro Morata has greatly disappointed.
Chelsea will be looking to further reinforce, so as to compete fabourably for top honours next season.
