Deal Close – Liverpool set to complete the signing of Xherdan Shaqiri.
Premier League side Liverpool have been strongly linked with Switzerland international and Stoke City playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri recently.
Attacker set to join Liverpool
If the latest claims making the rounds in the media are anything to go by then Liverpool are close to landing the ex-Bayern Munich playmaker this summer transfer window. On 6th of July, Mirror Sport claimed that Liverpool are leading the transfer race to sign him from Stoke.
Two days ago, The Telegraph exclusively disclosed that German tactician Jurgen Klopp is trying to make a move to complete the signing of Shaqiri and the former Borussia Dortmund manager wants to activate the buyout clause of about 13 million pounds to secure the deal.
Third summer signing imminent
Yesterday, Liverpool Echo reporter James Pearce tweeted and suggested that the 26-year-old attacker is set to become the Red’s third signing of the summer transfer window.
On the other hand, Spanish source Sport claimed that the World Cup star is very close to completing his move to Anfield.
Therefore, it will not be a surprise if the former FC Basel attacker eventually agrees to a transfer to Anfield Stadium. Last term, the 74-cap playmaker, who performed impressively well at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, played 36 matches in the Premier League and contributed in 15 goals.
