Manchester United have intensified efforts to bring Torino forward, Andrea Belotti to Old Trafford next summer, according to reports.
The Red Devils have been linked with a couple of strikers this summer, as they look to better their chances next season.
The Italian forward has been regarded as one of the best strikers in Europe with his heroics in the Serie A league, netting 28 goals across all competitions last season.
Reports in Italian outlet, Tuttosport claim that Mourinho has sent his agent Jorge Mendes to Milan to discuss the potential of signing Belotti this summer, with reports United want to hold talks with Torino president Urbano Cairo.
The forward is followed by a host of clubs in Europe who are already to pay his £87m release clause and Manchester United will need to beat other clubs to Belotti’s signature.
Cairo has remained adamant about not allowing Belotti leave the club without his release clause.
“I’m not thinking about selling Belotti,” said Cairo.
“Belotti is my player, we only renewed his contract recently. Our objective is to keep him.
“After that, there is a release clause that would make me obliged to sell him, providing someone came in with €100m (£87m) from abroad.
“Let’s see. I haven’t talked to him yet because he is currently with the national team.
“We will see how things go. Our intention would be to keep him.”
