Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has blasted his county’s Football Federation after withdrawing from national team assignment due to an alleged injury.
The former Borussia Dortmund player was about to feature in Gabon’s Saturday’s game against Mali until he was forced out due to an undisclosed injury.
The Gabon international is therefore angry that his country’s Football Federation had created the impression that he refused to honour a national team invitation and not ready to play in the game.
Aubameyang disclosed that his doctor had already sent a mail to the country’s federation informing them of an injury he had but it was published to be able to give evidence that he was actually not fit to play the game.
While speaking to journalist Freddy Koula on Twitter, Aubameyang lamented that it has been 24 hours since the mail was sent by his doctor to explain the situation.
According to him, the step taken by the Gabon federation on the issue could affect his personality before the fans.
However, Aubameyang is the third player after Alexandre Lacazette and Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi, who remains a concern most importantly in their bid to have a first four finish so as to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
