Premier League club West Ham United are planning a big bid for Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals in their quest to sign a quality midfielder this summer.

The Hammers are keen to sign a new midfielder ahead of the new Premier League season billed to start in the next two months.

According to Sky Sports, West Ham United have concluded plans to make a bid for Pablo Fornals rated at around £25m.

Pablo Fornals has previously been linked with Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool but the Reds’ interest has cooled down in recent times.

West Ham United have suffered several setbacks in their bid to sign a new midfielder within a short span of time in the transfer window which opened some weeks back.

They have tried to sign Greek international Kostas Fortounis from Greek giants Olympiacos and Spanish national team player Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid but both attempts have not yielded any result.

Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes is also a strong target for the Hammers having made two bids for the Portuguese international.

They have so far been turned down in their quest to sign him from Spanish champions Barcelona.

West Ham had made a bid of £18m for him but was swiftly turned down before a second bid of £20m which was also rejected with Barcelona holding out for at least £25m.

Andre Gomes spent the season on loan at Everton who also want the player to sign to a permanent transfer.
