Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has disclosed that one of his star attackers will be left out of team which heads to FC Burnley for Sunday afternoon’s English Premier League encounter.
The North Londoners managed to bounce back from the 3-1 loss at Premier League leaders Manchester City by defeating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 last week Saturday to remain in the Premier League title race for a top-four place at least.
However, the gunners declining form in the Europa League continued on Thursday as a spot-kick conceded in the second stanza decided the match in FC Cologne’s favour.
And looking forward to this weekend’s encounter with FC Burnley, Arsene Wenger has disclosed that England international forward Theo Walcott, despite the chance to participate in first team training, will be omitted from the Arsenal squad which locks horn with Sean Dyche’s team due to illness.
“For the weekend [fixture], no he [Theo Walcott] is not available. He [Theo Walcott] is back in [first team] training now, so he [Theo Walcott] should be okay [fit for selection] for next week [fixture]. He [Theo Walcott] has been ill.” the Arsenal manager revealed.
After ending last campaign as the Gunner’s second top goalscorer behind Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez, Englishman Theo Walcott has coped with an underwhelming start to this season, playing sparingly in the English Premier League.
