Leandro Paredes

Maurizio has been chasing after Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Leandro Paredes for a long time as he believes the player is the capable man to feature alongside Jorginho at the middle of the pitch.

The Italian successfully convinced Roman Abramovich to make move for the Argentine star and it was said that the former Premier League Champions have reached an agreement with the Russian club over the 24-year-old.

The Daily Mirror revealed last week that the player has equally signed a pre-contract deal with the Blues and he would be joining the team in the summer.

However, the Blues appeared too late as reports claimed PSG are currently leading the park for his signature and the Ligue 1 Champions are likely to seal his signature tomorrow (Friday).

The Telegraph reveal that the Argentine will be in Paris where he will undergo his medicals on Friday before signing a four-year contract with Thomas Tuchel’s side.

PSG are set to lose their ever-reliable midfielder Adrien Rabiot this winter and Thomas is keen to find a player to occupy the vacuum that will be created by his departure.

The Frenchman has refused to extend his stay at the Parc des Princes stadium, hence, PSG are ready to release him this winter.

The same reports said Zenit St Petersburg are asking for a huge €40m from the two interested parties and PSG are ready to reach the asking price
