According to The Mirror, Arsenal are set to make a new transfer approach for West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans having failed with an initial £25million offer for the Baggies centre-half during the summer.
The Mirror claims that the north London club are still interested in the Northern Ireland international defender, with manager Arsene Wenger wanting to sign a new centre-half in the New year.
The Mirror states that Evans would be keen on moving if another huge-money bid is tabled, but that Premier League leaders Manchester City may also showing interest again having also shown their interest in Evans, 29, in the summer.
The report also claim that new West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew may have to cash in before he can bring in another player in January, meaning he will discuss with the defender about whether he wants to leave or not.
Evans has had a difficult English Premier League season for West Brom so far due to injuries, but the former Manchester United defender has once again performed consistently well.
The West Brom captain has led the side in all his 12 matches this term, and he has displayed the defensive qualities that he possesses.
With only 18 months remaining on his current contract and the fact that he turns 30 in January, he could be bought for a reasonable price.
