Chelsea could be handed renewed hope over ending their chase of Juventus defender Alex Sandro, with the full-back set to depart the Serie A giant next summer, as per TuttoMercatoWeb, via Calciomercato.
The Blues interest in the ex- Porto full-back was strongly reported last summer, with a fee thought to be about €50million being the highest of Chelsea’s bidding efforts.
Despite tabling a huge transfer fee, and offering a massive wage packet for left-back, Juventus refused to agree a deal, and subsequently began negotiations to extend the defender’s deal.
However, as per Italian media publication, the Brazilian has told the Bianconeri that he is not keen and expressed a crystal clear intent to depart the side next summer – despite the 33-times Serie A champions tabling an equal wage proposed by Chelsea.
The Turin giant are already seeking a replacement, with AS Roma’s Emerson Palmieri a target. The Blues have also declared interest in Palmeri previously, as the Daily Mail reported earlier in the year.
Chelsea manger Antonio Conte continues to seek for a good left-back to reduce the pressure on Spain international full-back Marcos Alonso, who has started all matches in the English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League for the West London club this campaign, only being handed rest for the domestic cup matches.
