Pep Factor: Liverpool Target Desires Man City Move

Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar has revealed his admiration for Premier League champions Manchester City and manager Pep Guardiola amidst the transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the French Ligue 1 giants.

Houssem Aouar spoke about Pep Guardiola in a chat with Canal Plus earlier this week when he was asked about the possibility of joining Manchester City.

The 20-year-old has had a superb season for Lyon whom he helped to the Champions League via a third-placed finish at the end of the latest French Ligue 1 campaign.

Houssem Aouar is delighted with the prospect of playing for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City though he was quick to point out that he has a contract with Lyon.

The young French midfielder will have a new trainer as from next season after the exit of Bruno Genesio.

Former Arsenal player Sylvinho will replace Bruno Genesio whose contract expires this summer.

Houssem Aouar showed Manchester City what he has to offer during the Champions League group stage earlier this season.

He drew the praise of Pep Guardiola in the second game between Lyon and Manchester City which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Lyon had earlier stunned Manchester City 2-1 away from home in the first meeting between the two teams.

Apart from Manchester City, Houssem Aouar has also been attracting the interest of other European sides like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Champions League finalists Liverpool.
