Reports coming out of Anfield are suggesting that Liverpool coach is seriously considering sending England striker Daniel Sturridge on loan to Southampton.
The striker who has endured an injury riddled season is now back in action but is expected to face a very stiff game time competition.
According to PLTV News the coach sees Sturridge as central to his plans but admits it would be really tough for the left footed striker to break into the starting eleven.
The squad risks losing its balance if he resorts to tweaking the line up with Liverpool in second on the table and a serious contestant for the league.
Claude Puel is seen to be an admirer of the English striker and the recent transfer dealing between both clubs which has seen the likes of Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Sadio Mane, Nathaniel Clyne switch to Merseyside, with this in mind Southampton will be the front-runner in securing Sturridge due to the great relationship between both clubs.
There has been no response from the player’s camp or his agent but if the reports from Anfield are anything to go by then we should be expecting to see the player in Southampton as the transfer window approaches.
