Reports from United owners hits Mourinho badly

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is expected to be badly disappointed with the reports coming from the club owners, the Glazer family about the January transfer window.

It is reported that the Portuguese manager will not be handed funds for the recruitment of defenders in coming months despite losing heavily to their rivals on Sunday.

The former Chelsea boss is of the opinion that he is not on the same level with his competitors and knowing his defensive approach, he wants to equip his defence to be able to stop his opponents.

Mourinho has been frustrated with transfer issues since the beginning of the season having failed to have his wish being sanctioned, a development that led to the rift with the club’s executive vice-chairman.

The former Chelsea boss had predicted a tough season for the side and it has heavily manifested with the Old Trafford side unsure of Champions League football at the moment as well as not able to win a title this season despite the huge investment on players.

Leicester City’s Harry Maguire who was linked to Manchester United has rejected the move as he is committed to remaining at the club for a longer period of time.
