There have been different reactions to Man City’s win over Chelsea on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, and various people are seeing things from different perspectives.
And the thoughts of former England international Alan Shearer towards the game is that the premier league champions made some blunders during the summer transfer window which were exposed at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The London club were beaten 1-0 by visitors Manchester City and couldn’t earn any point from the clash. Former Blues star player Kevin De Bruyne scored the sole goal of the game to help his current side get all three points from his former club.
But to Shearer, the defeat is actually not the major issue on Saturday, but Alvaro Morata being forced off the pitch with a hamstring injury and the Chelsea boss surprisingly putting in Willian.
The Italian tactician chose to keep Belgian star Michy Batshauyi on the bench despite that he had scored five goals in his last three games for the London club, and Alan feels it was a clear example of lack of trust.
Speaking to the Sun about the issue, Alan said he couldn’t fathom the reason why the Chelsea manager won’t bring on Batshauyi after Morata left the pitch – despite the Belgian scoring in the midweek Champions League game against Atletico Madrid to help get all three points at Spain.
The premier league legend fears Conte does not trust Michy, and according to him:
“If Conte does not trust him [Batshauyi] enough, what was going on in the summer with their recruitment”
