Reports indicate Liverpool are yet to agree a new deal for Emre Can and Italian giant Juventus are hoping to use the situation to their advantage.
The Liverpool star is now in the final year of his existing contract with the Merseyside club and rumors is increasing that the 23-year-old could be tempted away from the Anfield Stadium.
According to Italian publication, La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Serie A champions Juventus are hoping to capitalise on the lack of certainty over Emre Can’s future at Liverpool to swoop for the German.
This latest development is coming despite the fact that just last month British tabloid, the Express reported that Liverpool was set to almost double the Germany International’s current wages of £55,000-weekly to around £100,000-weekly.
It was also said that the new contract would keep the German at the club until the summer of 2021, but with the publication released almost two weeks ago, there is still no sign of contract renewal.
The German moved to Anfield from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in 2014 and had since played 129 matches in all competitions.
Can, last season played a major role for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and even scored five league goals as the Reds finished fourth in the Premier League table – including scoring the goal of the season in a 1-0 victory at Watford.
