Manchester United Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho is believed to have made an amazing offer for Real Madrid’s German midfielder Toni Kroos. According to Spanish media outlet Don Balon via Manchester Evening News, the former Bayern Munich player is considering saying a “yes” to the great offer being tabled by the Portuguese coach and his team.
Kroos, who was on the verge of joining United in 2014 before being snapped up by Real, could now finally join the Old Trafford outfit after four years of unprecedented achievement at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The £325,000-a-week Germany international has made 188 appearances for the Spanish capital team, and he is on the verge of winning his third consecutive UEFA Champions League with the Spanish giants.
Having been primarily involved in 66 goals (either scoring them or by assist), he is surely the type of player Mourinho lacks in his team. He is not like Pogba. Even on the ever reliable Bookmakers Rating, he is the perfect midfielder who Sir Alex Ferguson saw as a perfect replacement for Michael Carrick. He is even much more as he gets involved in attacking movements much more than the retired Englishman.
With the favourable statistics he has — scoring or creating a goal in three matches – Jose Mourinho can assure himself that he has found the player who is capable of replacing both Carrick and Fellaini.
While a move from Madrid to United doesn’t seem like a progress in itself, Don Balon believe there is a probability Kroos could switch to the Manchester club as he has already won everything with the Spanish club.
He has won two Champions League titles, three Club World Cups, One FIFA World Cup, all German football titles, One La Liga title, and no Copa Del Rey. Kroos is one of the best in today’s football, and his title wins can attest to that.
The 28 year-old is a regular in Zidane’s team, but his addition to a team that already boasts the likes of Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera, and Paul Pogba, is something United fans all over the globe would love to see.
