The North London outfit Arsenal boss Unai Emery is reported to be monitoring the situation with Djene Dakonam at the Spanish La Liga outfit Gatafe ahead of the summer transfer window.
Djene Dakonam has been on the radar of the Arsenal team as he has already won the heart of the Gunners boss who seems to be convinced to land him at the club ahead of the coming season.
The Gunners team are keen to add more strength to the team ahead of the coming season and the defence is suggested to be a major focus for the team because of the poor performance of the department this term especially as they recorded lesser clean sheets amongst the top six teams.
However, Djene Dakonam has got a contract with Gatafe until 2021 but he is set to bid the goodbye should Arsenal submit the right bid for his signature.
The 27-year-old has been tipped to cost Arsenal about £13.5 million which Unai Emery is willing to pay as he is desperate for a quality and experienced defender for the team.
Meanwhile, a defender will not be the only addition to the Arsenal team ahead of the coming season as the Spanish boss is expected to bring in other new faces for the midfield and attack.
