According to reports, Spanish La Liga champions Real Madrid are confident that they will be able to secure the signature of Athletic Club safe hand Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is also believed to be on Arsene Wenger’s wishlist.
As per The Guardian, the 23-year-old Arrizabalaga is on Arsenal wishlist, but Spanish news outlet AS claim that reigning Champions League winners Real Madrid are sure that they will sign the promising young goalkeeper.
Arrizabalaga, who is six foot, two and a half inches tall, has been with the La Liga club since he was only 10 years old, and grew through their youth set-up before starting his senior playing career with their feeder team, Basconia, gaining much-needed experience in the third tier of Spanish football before then climbing up the ladder and featuring for the Athletic B side in the Second Division of Spanish football, and then finally making it at senior team level.
The goalie made his Athletic debut back in September 2016, keeping a clean sheet as his side defeated Deportivo de La Coruna 1-0.
Since making his debut, he has played a further 32 matches for the La Liga side and is undoubtedly one of the brightest young goalkeeper’s in the world, hence the interest from Arsenal and Real Madrid.
