Chelsea to Miss Ethan Ampadu Ahead of Leicester Clash.

Having missed the services of Ross Barkley and Bakayoko in recent weeks due to injury, Antonio Conte is set to have another player in the Blues’ rehabilitation room as youngster Ethan Ampadu picked up an injury while in action for Chelsea’s U19 side during their UEFA Youth Champions League victory over Real Madrid in mid-week.

The young defender was stretched out of the game after a horrible collision with Real Madrid striker on Wednesday.

He could be out of Sunday’s FA Cup meeting against Leicester City at the King Power stadium according to Conte in his pre-match conference.

The 17-year-old has been impressive for the Blues since he joined the Premier League defending Champions from Exeter City in the summer.

Though he hasn’t seen much first-team actions as he would have loved to see, he is a household name in Antonio Conte’s first team squad throughout this term.

Despite his young age, the Welshman has featured in seven matches in all competitions for the Blues so far this season, making his Premier League debut in their 3-1 victory over Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium back in December when he came on as a late substitute.

The length of his injury hasn’t been confirmed but he is reportedly going to be out of action for two weeks at least. Conte’s men must defeat the Foxes if they must stand any chance of winning a trophy this season.
