Club Legend Narrates How Liverpool Missed Out On Deadline Day Transfer

Former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has narrated how the Reds missed out on the signing of Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam on deadline day while he was in charge.

Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish reminisced about missing out on a deadline day transfer for Charlie Adam in his column for Sunday Post.

He talked about how the Reds missed out on a transfer for Charlie Adam in January 2011.

According to him, talented midfielder Charlie Adam was at Blackpool at the time but the Tangerines didn’t sanction the transfer for the Scottish international player.

Kenny Dalglish also revealed that North London giants Tottenham Hotspur also tried to sign the player during the same period.

Liverpool eventually got their man few months down the line after Charlie Adam made the switch to Anfield in the summer of 2011.

The experienced Scottish player joined the Reds shortly after Blackpool got relegated at the end of the 2010/11 season.

Charlie Adam was the talisman for that Blackpool team but he was unable to save the team from relegation.

He went on to play for Liverpool for just one season before joining Stoke City in 2012.

Charlie Adam was in the Liverpool team that won the 2011/12 League Cup title.
