After another shambolic display from Henderson in Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Paris St-German on Wednesday, Liverpool manager is convinced he needs an upgrade to his midfield set up.
The England international has been on every newspaper’s headline for the wrong reasons, his performances of late are beginning to raise fans, reporters, and pundits’ eyebrows.
Klopp isn’t happy with what’s seen from the Englishman, however, Fabinho’s worst start to the season hasn’t helped situations at all.
The Brazilian is being unconvincing with his display in the Reds jersey and the German manager is presently in a very devastating and confusing state on who to integrate into his starting lineup.
With Oxlade-Chamberlain’s injury, things have become more complicated for the former Borussia Dortmund manager.
Irrespective of the current situation, the Reds need to return back to winning ways as soon as possible, hence, Klopp must make a quick, on-the-spot decision on whom to feature regularly as a starter, Fabinho or Henderson?
In his days, Henderson is a reliable midfielder who brings calm and or organization to the team at the middle of the park.
Nonetheless, his recent — indeed present — form is saying otherwise and Klopp can’t continue to take any more risk with the player.
His dwindled form was exposed by Neymar and Mbappe throughout Wednesday’s Champions League encounter. The Reds can’t afford to repeat such uncoordinated display in the League, else, they bid goodbye to the Premier League glory.
He must stop being faithful to the former Southampton man as soon as possible and dropped him from his starting lineup.
Fabinho’s uninspiring form could be traced to a change of environment, that’s not a genuine excuse anyway.
The player has played most of his career at French Ligue 1 with Monaco, hence, a move to Anfield stadium is a complete change of playing pattern and tactical approach.
For such player to return back to the blistering form he is known for, he must feature regularly for the team.
This is why Klopp must give time and support to the Brazilian midfielder to help him regain the form that made the Reds splash £40.5m on his signature during the summer transfer window.
Keita is still an Option!
Is he becoming a forgotten star so soon? the Guinean star sparkles in his first four matches with the Reds but couldn’t held on to such pace as the League progress.
He was eventually dropped out of the starting XI by Klopp so as to learn, from experienced players, on how things are being done in the League.
Is he still learning? That question can rightly be answered by Jurgen Klopp. All we know is that the former RB Leipzig is far becoming a bench warmer.
However, the player can be of help to Klopp in his present condition as he’s capable of bringing calm and organization to the midfield.
Luckily, Henderson is out of contention for today’s epic clash with Everton due to his Red card against Watford last weekend.
Klopp now have the chance to give Fabinho or/and Keita the chance to convince him
