Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld is obviously one of the reasons why Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho had an outburst with the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
Mourinho had asked the club to move in for the player in the last summer transfer window in order to secure his signature having identified him as one of the best in the league but that was not done which made the Portuguese boss furious.
The fact the United failed to capture Toby Alderweireld is the major reason why he predicted at the beginning of the season that his side will have a difficult season.
However, with the expectation that United will return for Toby Alderweireld in the coming winter transfer window which reopens in January, Mourinho hints that it might not happen again.
According to him, clubs like Tottenham have become big and will not seek to sell their players to other bigger guns in the league anymore.
The former Chelsea boss noted that United had signed the likes of Micheal Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov from Spurs but a possibility of having more stars from the North London side is now difficult.
However, Mourinho gave the hint that he might not be involved in transfer dealings with suggestions that funds will not be made available.
