United change direction in pursuit of defensive target

Eder Militao

Manchester United were earlier reported to be interested in adding Kalidou Koulibaly to their team in the winter transfer window which reopens in coming weeks but that will no longer happen as they have now turned their attention on Porto defender Eder Militao.

With suggestions that the Red Devils will not be able to secure the signature of Kalidou Koulibaly, it has been reported that they have shifted their attention and will now make a bid for Porto man Eder Militao.

The Red Devils are having one of their worst starts this season with the manager Jose Mourinho of the opinion that the woes have been caused by his defenders.

United shipped in a total of 26 goals in 16 Premier League games which makes it necessary for an addition with Eder Militao tipped as the man who can put an end to the poor defence.

Eder Militao is believed to be a better advantage to the Old Trafford side as he is obviously younger with 7 years difference between him and Kalidou Koulibaly in age. The Porto man is also believed to be cheaper than the Napoli man.

Meanwhile, United are eight points behind league leaders Man City so far in the Premier League table.
