Serie A giants AC Milan have allegedly joined Merseyside giants Liverpool and Premier League champions Chelsea in the pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen starlet Leon Bailey in the summer.
One for the future
The wonder kid has been making quite a good impression in the Bundesliga this campaign, netting 10 goals and making five assists in 22 matches in all competitions.
As per Calciomercato, not only has that decent form attracted the attention of Premier League duo of Chelsea and Liverpool, AC Milan have now joined the pursuit ahead of the summer window with a €35m valuation being touted.
Italy not a bad idea
The transfer would surely make sense from Milan’s perspective as if there is a weakness in the squad; it’s a lack of pace and width.
Hakan Calhanoglu, Suso and Giacomo Bonaventura are all technically brilliant players capable of deciding a game, but ultimately have no pace to stretch defences to the limit and offer something distinct for AC Milan.
We’ll wait and see who wins the race to secure his signing eventually and whether a transfer to the English Premier League appeals more than Italian Serie A to the starlet, but ultimately this story would suggest that it will be a three-horse race for the Jamaica youth international when the season ends.
