Italian serie A leaders Napoli have made an approach for Pontus Dahlberg, who has lately been linked to North London duo of Tottenham Hotspurs and Arsenal.
Spurs and Arsenal could both be battling for the signature of talented Swedish safe hand Pontus Dahlberg.
Swedish publication Fotboll Direkt claimed in the summer that both local rivals are interested in the IFK Goteborg starlet.
Now Italian Serie A leaders Napoli have joined the bidding war in securing the services of the exciting 18-year-old goalkeeper, who already has first-team experience.
Gianluca di Marzio claims Napoli’s director of Sport Cristiano Giuntoli met with Dahlberg’s representative after a UEFA Europa League match.
Napoli have now officially made enquiry over the goalkeeper, who was recently invited into Sweden’s National under-21 squad.
The Italian Serie A leaders are considering sending Dahlberg back to Goteborg on loan to seal a move.
Napoli may be permitted to continue their chase of the player unchallenged, but this could also be Spurs and Arsenal’s last opportunity to sign the goalkeeper.
The Italian side appears interested in tying up a move in January, and the London sides have a month to come up with a challenge themselves. Watching some of his video clips, you will understand why Dahlberg is so highly regarded in France.
