Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has replied his critics by scoring a brace in Belgium’s 2-1 victory against Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League.
The United striker has been criticized for not giving his best for the club scoring only two goals this season in all competitions.
He was pointed to as one of the reasons why the Red Devils have struggled this season with his goal drought.
However, Lukaku broke the deadlock by finding the back of the net on two occasions in the game.
It would be recalled that the Belgium striker admitted he was going to cool off from the controversies at the Old Trafford, stating that his side’s 3-2 win against Newcastle before the international break was a big relieve to him and the team.
Before the Newcastle win, United had gone four games without a win including the exit from the Carabao Cup when they were defeated by Derby County.
The Old Trafford fans will only expect Lukaku to return with his form to help Manchester United secure a win in the all-important Premier League clash against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku who has been under firing at the club side has now scored a total of 45 goals in 78 international league games.
