Wenger backs Thierry Henry to succeed at Monaco

There are lots of connections between former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and the club’s legend Thierry Henry who has been appointed as Monaco’s manager.

Aside both being French men, they had got a good relationship as a player and manager at Arsenal before they both parted ways.

Now, it will be in the history of French outfit, Monaco that Wenger and Henry have managed the club as the former Arsenal boss had his reign at the French side from 1987 to 1994.

However, Wenger who is familiar with both the club and the new manager is positive that something good can now be heard of his former side.

Wenger praised the recruit of the Arsenal legend, noting that it has a lot of credibility because of the quality he has got.

According to him, the former Belgium assistant manager has the intelligence and understanding of football that will help him succeed at the club.

While noting that a bit of luck is needed to succeed as a manager, Wenger made it clear that Henry has got all the ingredients that will help him become a great manager in future.

Henry will have a taste of the job when Monaco travel to face Strasbourg in Ligue 1 encounter on October 20.
