‘I Will Leave For Free’ – Star Player Issues Transfer Ultimatum To Chelsea

Thibaut Courtois

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has told the club to sell unless he will leave for free next summer.

The Belgian has been in the news recently following speculation that Real are looking to sign this summer and the former Atleti stopper is also keen on returning to Spain.

However, Chelsea are believed to be certain about keeping the keeper beyond this summer, leaving the deal in balance.

Reports in The Sun now claim that Courtois, who has just 12 months on his contract at the Bernabeu has told the club that he will not sign a new deal at the Stamford Bridge if he is not allowed to leave.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, are trying hard to lure the Belgian to the club before the end of the summer transfer window, and it appears their efforts might finally pay off as Chelsea may be forced to sell Courtois this summer or resign to the idea of losing him for free next summer.

The likes of Kasper Schmeichel and Jack Butland from Leicester City and Stoke City respectively has been linked to replace Courtois in between the sticks at the Bridge.

However, Chelsea are being pegged back by the huge transfer valuations of the likely replacements.
