Manchester United are ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Barcelona forward Philippe Coutinho according to bookmakers.
Brazilian international star Coutinho signed for the Blaugrana from Liverpool in the penultimate transfer window in January in a deal reported to be around £142m.
The transfer made the 26-year-old as the third most expensive signing in the history of world football behind the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) duo of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
According to the bookmaker Coral via the Daily Express, Manchester United are ahead of Liverpool if Barcelona decide to make him available for a transfer.
Philippe Coutinho has not been able to reprise his Liverpool form at Barcelona though he has occasionally shown flashes of brilliance.
The average performances clearly outweigh the sensational ones.
The former Inter Milan player produced another average performance in the Champions League clash with Tottenham Hotspur at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night.
Coral revealed that PSG are favourites to sign at 2/1 ahead of the Italian duo of Napoli (3/1) and Inter Milan (4/1).
Manchester United are fourth favourites at 6/1, while rivals Liverpool are next at 8/1.
German champions Bayern Munich (12/1) and Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund (16/1) are also in the running.
