Lazio star Stefan De Vrij is keen on a switch to Premier League side Manchester United this summer transfer window.
Defender wants to leave
According to a report by the Mirror, the defender is willing to leave the Italian side in when the current season ends and has his eyes set on Premier League giants Manchester United.
The report suggests that Serie A side Lazio have lost hope on attempting to keep him at the club by extending his deal, meaning that the Red Devils would be able to secure his service on a free transfer.
Bosman rule
His deal with his current side expires at the conclusion of the current season, which would permit Jose Mourinho’s team to sign the defender without having to pay his current side a penny.
De Vrij’s partner at the back from last season, Holland international centre-half Wesley Hoedt, made the move to the English Premier League with Southampton last summer transfer window and could persuade his compatriot to head to England.
The Mirror suggest that the Old Trafford giants are following the progress of the player closely and go further to say they may have already made an approach to the defender in a bid to secure the player’s signature for next season.
